Icaridin encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles.
Recommended for products intended to provide long-lasting insect repellency.
nDefense is produced based on icaridin encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles. Icaridin, also known as picaridin, is an active insect repellent recommended by the World Health Organization and the United States Environmental Protection Agency for application on the skin (human and animal), clothing, and surfaces. It has repellent action against bites from various insects: disease-transmitting mosquitoes, sandflies (vector of leishmaniasis), as well as ticks, flies, mites, and fleas. Recommended for use in insect repellent sprays and lotions.
Usage recommendations: External veterinary use. Emulsions, lotions, and sprays (10 – 20%).
Active ingredient: Icaridin (INCI: HYDROXYETHYL ISOBUTYL PIPERIDINE CARBOXYLATE, CAS: 119515-38-7).
