Phytosphingosine is a sphingoid base present in high concentrations in the stratum corneum, playing a significant role in maintaining healthy skin. Topical application of phytosphingosine and its derivatives has been shown to increase ceramide levels in the stratum corneum and improve skin barrier function. This property is particularly important in the maintenance of dry skin conditions and atopic dermatitis. Avocado oil is used to stimulate collagen synthesis in the skin, delaying the formation of wrinkles and stretch marks. The nanoencapsulation of lipophilic active ingredients such as phytosphingosine and avocado oil allows for easy dispersion in aqueous bases and vehicles, as well as improved penetration of the active ingredients into the skin, thereby increasing the product’s effectiveness.
